Not good! I went from hiking with a bow to hiking with a muzzleloader. Lol! We saw very few elk and I don’t know why. We saw a few bulls from the canyon rim in the Spring Creeks area. The first two days we heard a decent amount of bugles but they pretty much stopped after that. If you are dead set to hunt that unit, just post up on the power line all week. Seriously.
That area around the three forks of Spring Creek is just a small portion of that unit so you might want to look elsewhere. There are elk in there, they are just almost impossible to get to. They like that area where the West and Middle Forks come together along private. Hope that helps!
Am I reading this right? Wyoming only gives out 10 tags for the rifle limited quota hunt? That doesn’t seem right for a unit of that size. And only 13 for the limited archery?
In a group, I archery hunted here 17, 18 and 19. My buddies keep going back but I'm not archery hunting here anymore. One guy had a cow elk run to him when he was cow calling. He said, "If I would've had an arrow in my hand, I could've touched her on the end of her nose but I could not have shot if I wanted to". The oak brush is that thick. It's hard hunting but there are elk there. Two of us decided to burn our 3 points this year and drew ML tags. Couple more things, it's hot and dry during archery! In 17 the North, Middle, and West Fork Spring Creeks all had water. Almost none every year since.

Colorado Big Game Unit 62In 2016 there was plenty of water in the creeks. Not so much since then. CO has gotten a ton of rain this summer so I'd expect creeks full of water.
