Are you able to draw the Antelope archery only tag AND a Rifle tag in the same year. If so, are you then able to harvest two bucks within the permits respective seasons?
That's interesting data. Curious on what 2021 data will bring. Applied as a 2nd choice 1st Rifle cow tag in unit 33 this year (CO). Historical data had left over tags for the last 10 years so I was not concerned with my hunting group drawing out. When the results came in, only a couple of us drew so I had to investigate. 1,100 more applications from the year before pushed draw odds down to 30%. In one year went from leftovers to 30% draw!!! Blew my mind, but really cant complain. More participation = more money for conservation = more interest to value and protect our wildlife.
Agreed. The problem is just more people in general, not just non-residents.They are just easy to objectify to residents that have probably only been there for a few years anyways. haha CO's population has increased by 1 million people in the last 10 years. The USA population has increased 28 million in that same time frame. If only .1% of those people apply or participate in a CO hunt, that equates to 28,000 additional competing boot tracks in just over a decade. Sorry to say, but opportunity is just going to keep declining. Creating multi-stage strategies across many states using assets like gohunt, with the expectation of maybe only hunting one species per year, will be reality very shortly for all of us. What I would like to see all the Western states do away with is the ability to apply for only a PP, refunds and you pay up front. Sure go ahead and apply, but know that's a one way street if you draw.
