Same crappy experience as everyone else it seems, but maybe a bit luckier on the reload. Tried to log in continuously starting at 9am. Error messages and no response from site. Downloaded the app and tried that way- gave me the message that I was already in waiting room- which I wasnt. Shut everything down and tried again with multiple different browsers to see if one would work better. No dice. Finally at 958 had one window load the waiting room and was assigned number 6435. Then sales got stopped/paused until 1030. Now we are 1hr 15mins in (75 minutes) and there are still 5973 people in front of me in line. So they have processed 462 people in 75 minutes. That is 6 people per minute. Do the math from there. Only about 1k more minutes for me.... Stupid way to do things, but that is par for government work.
Im curious. This kinda seems like a retaliatory measure aimed at policies/changes in other states.
It has the outfitter allocation similar to NV and NM. It forces hunters toward outfitters, which is similar to the wilderness rules of WY. It has huge financial implications similar to what ID and other states have done to NR's recently.
Seems to me this is a bunch of people in each state who want their own state to heavily favor residents and want other states not to target them as NR's. Cant have it both ways people. What we need is some sort of interstate compact that creates fair guidelines on how NR's are treated in western states. We need to stop fighting and targeting each other. We will have plenty of opportunity to fight with non-hunters over the next few years, quit fighting amongst ourselves.
I think this is a chance for MT to show some leadership by stepping up to say that we are not going to make it hard for people to hunt and ask other states to join them. Thats why I would oppose this, and I am a MT resident.
