Sleeping Pad Durability — The goHUNT Stress Test - posted 2 years ago

Sleeping pads are exposed to lots of tough conditions, and tiny pin holes can happen. I would favor the brand that provides a usable, durable patch kit and adhesive with its pad. If a new pad is going to run over $150, then a slightly used pad with a pin hole shouldn't have to be thrown away. (recent advice given to me by manufacturer of one of the brands tested) All things equal, I will purchase a pad that has a good patch kit. My advice for your next comparison test: throw out the boulder test , create a small pin hole in each of the pads, and see if the provided patch works and stays attached. Doug T.
