I'll see you guys at the RMEF Hunter's Christmas this weekend! I attribute my ""profile pic"" buck to you guys! Your assistance, I believe, definitely helped! Cheers!
Brady, I appreciate your response. Being a biologist that has worked on bears, I just find pics, such as this, distasteful and unrealistic. Judging by the article, it is definitely written to educate and report on this unfortunate occurrence, but the pic does, in my opinion, encourage a irrational fear and response to these animals. Thank you
Bad form! Why do people always have to photoshop blood in a bear's mouth? Come on Ms. Schmitt, I respect you and enjoy reading your articles, but please be realistic with your photos and don't promote bearanoia. Thank you
Don't forget your hand trowel to dispose of solid waste. I've been on caribou hunts where they drop us off and we had to camp at a marginal spot because all of the good spots (out of the wind and plenty of cover) and too much solid human waste and TP everywhere! Needless to say I was quite disgusted by this behavior and reported it to the outfitter. FYI, this was a DIY drop hunt. Was a successful trip with 2 caribou and a grizz down (I was a resident at the time).
