You could drop the Tripod. I epoxy a 1/4-20 bolt to the underside of my trekking pole cap so it sticks up a 1/4”. Doesn’t bother my hand and I arrange rocks to hold it up. There is a mini camera swivel you can screw to it if you desire a swivel. 12$.

Enlightened quilt on a Therm-A-Rest xterm for me. Never slept better and cut 2lbs off my bag alone. I wrap them both in a mountain laurel design Bivey it all fits in a 12L stuffsac.
To bivy or not to bivy? That is the ultimate question -

I talked to the guys at enlightened equipment, he said if you reach out to them (gohunt) they could do a promo coupon for members. worth a try. they aren't doing retail at this time.
your right, 20 oz its just tarp and bivey. no pad.
HMG tarp is 10.5 oz
MLD bivey is 10 oz
large thermarest zlite is 16 oz
enigma quilt is 22 oz
total 3.9 lbs for a waterproof, 20deg, truly mobile setup. my plan is bag and pad all stay inside the bivey which is waterproof. tarp is for if its raining or snowing when I pitch. if not its cowboy camp.
the above replaces my synthetic bag (3.5lbs) and BA slater ul2 (4lbs) and I hope all fits in to one stuff sack the size of just the synthetic bag... we shall see...durability as well. for space and weight it was the best I could concoct. I suffered with a 60lb pack last year. 40 lb is this years goal.
yo guys, after ALOT of searching here is the lightest combo on the market. I am awaiting delivery but it adds up to 20 ounces with stakes...
mountain laurel designs fkt bivey
HMG or MLD 8'x10' cuben tarp.
enlightened equipment down quilt (best price/custom colors no charge)
HMG pillow stuffsack with down or raingear inside
The above took 4lbs off my pack. this thread may make a huge bump for these cottage companys and may add to lead time....
go get em!!
