Omar Lopez running a 100 mile race for wild sheep conservation.

View of the completed Flipper Guzzler.

What began as Omar’s personal goal to run 100 miles turned into a much larger effort, bringing together volunteers, nonprofit organizations, and supporters with a shared passion for wild sheep and the landscapes they call home. Through an incredible volunteer turnout and the generosity of 151 individual donations, the effort raised more than $33,000 toward building a guzzler to provide a water source for wildlife. The project became a reminder of what’s possible when people are willing to show up, work together, and contribute to something bigger than themselves. Running Water follows Omar and the community behind this effort, capturing the determination, collaboration, and generosity that helped turn one personal challenge into a meaningful conservation project.
Every dollar went to the New Flipper Project water guzzler in the Muddy Mountains of Nevada: eight tanks that can hold 18,400 gallons of water, built by volunteers in two days.
100 miles. 151 donors. One new water source for desert bighorn sheep.
Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and cheered Omar on for the benefit of wildlife.
