Hey Kyle. Sorry for the late reply, but just wanted to jump on here and say thank you!! This hunt definitely tested our patience. Also, soak up that badass Kalispell life. I miss that area so much.
Love your determination, lots of people would have washed out after plan B but you kept digging! From one Montana guy to another keep kicking ass!
@Cameron D. - Honestly, you can drop a pin randomly in Colorado and have a great hunt. Basically, it comes to finding terrain that you think you can have success in. And then diving into that habitat to figure out what areas will hold bucks. Colorado is an amazing state!!
Brady is there any Colorado zone you'd recommend
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video, Alex! Glad you enjoyed it. It was a hunt I'll never forget.
Awesome video. I appreciated the way they persisted in the face of a multitude of challenges and had adventure and killed nice deer.
Thank you, Oswald and Gary!! Best of luck this season.
Sick video guys!!
I really like these short and to-the-point videos. Well done!
@Daniel R. - Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the film and the gear list I did. I'll have Seth jump in there and drop some of his thoughts. I should have him do an article on his gear list too :)
@Stephan and Zac- Thanks!
@Clayton H. - Yeah, nowadays, CWD might be a concern if your hunting in a CWD area or not. But me personally... I will give faith to the animal that it’s still way cleaner than other options. The findings that CWD can be transferred to humans still hasn’t been peer-reviewed. So time will tell. It’s going to be interesting what could happen to the deer herds in the west. That camp meal is probably my favorite part of a hunt. I probably ate half a backstrap myself that day, and until there are solid peer-reviewed studies that it can be transferred to humans, and if the states make some announcement that a certain area is, in fact, full of CWD... then I might avoid the camp meals and get the deer tested first.
Bad ass guys! Great video and hunt. I’ve gone through Brady’s gear list for that hunt and have taken some great ideas for myself. I would be interested to hear what Seth chose to pack for his First Lite clothing. FL fits me better than Sitka and I am curious to know if he liked it for the conditions and that style hunt. Thanks, and congrats.
What's your thinking on not having the deer CWD tested
Heck ya! Nice vid. Cool perspective to see you guys that put in the hours to make a really sound and great product for others to go out and hunt too. You guys hunt just as hard or harder then some. Keep these kinds of vids coming. Thanks!
Nice effort and shooting guys.
Thanks, everyone! It was a fantastic hunt.
@Joseph - It's the Seek Outside Cimarron with a medium titanium stove: https://shop.gohunt.com/collections/shelters/products/seek-outside-the-cimarron
Love the tipi setup! Was essential for this hunt.
What tipi is that? Seek Cimarron?
watched the last shot again, could see the bullet arc into the target....goose pumps.
Great video! An adrenaline rush! Thanks for sharing the experience.
Great video guys! Really enjoyed watching it.
Guys, great video and congrats on the success. Love everything about the video, duration,content,etc., keep up the great work!
SUPER cool video guys! Congrats on those fine CO Muleys!!! I'm still dreaming about mine.........someday! I submitted my application to CO today thanks to GoHunt!
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent job guys!
@Konrad R. - That is the Karsten Model C cheek rest. I've been using it for a long time on my rifle and really enjoy it. Simple to setup and doesn't move once tightened down. I did a short article on the installation of it on my Browning rifle here: https://www.gohunt.com/read/skills/how-to-add-a-raised-cheek-piece-to-a-hunting-rifle
What cheek rest were you using?
Thank you Terry, Grant, Armando, and Sean! It's great when hunts turn out as well as that one did. Glad you enjoyed it.
@Grant - I was using a Browning X-Bolt in 300 Win Mag with 200 grain ELD-X and Seth was using a Browning X-Bolt in 28 Nosler.
Excellent video guys!
Like the way you guys work to find a new area to hunt and got in done.
Awesome video. Great content. What calibers were the hunters using? Both of those deer dropped like rocks. I know shot placement is key, but still, very impressive. Thanks.
Nice work guys! Good hunts, great camera work. Nice vapor trail shot on Brady's shot!!
