That is correct! If I put in for my choices 1st-unit 84 1st rifle, 2nd unit 12 1st rifle etc and I don’t draw 84 but I draw 12, I will get an elk tag and a preference point for not drawing 84

@eric s - the way it works in Colorado on all the deer elk antelope species is you have 4 voices or opportunities to draw the tag. In reality your first and second choices are the ones that actually get looked at. If I do not draw my first choice, I get a preference point. Even if I drew 2nd-4th choice. If and only if I draw my 1st choice license does my preference points go back to zero. I hope this helps.i think your getting season mixed up with choice. You can have 2nd rifle season as your first choice and if you draw then ur preference points go away

How to pick the right hunting backpack - posted 7 months ago

I have an army ruc pack. one thing I don't like about it is that its already heavier than I would like without anything in it. things I love about it (but can be a curse) is that you can put more crap in there than you want to haul. easy to clean and easy to attach stuff to the outside of the pack when your packing in a drop camp

ok I do have a question about something and I don't know how often this comes up. With how popular they are in some states are we expecting mountain lion and turkey on here? I know in Colorado you have to put in for some areas for turkey

so I am thinking about hunting elk here 1st rifle. I notice that there is some nasty country in here and I know im going to have to be ready to put on some miles in the wilderness area. has anyone had much success here? can anyone give me any in-sight as to which side of the wilderness area to spend my time scouting
