Bowhunting for success: Late season Coues deer tactics - posted 1 month ago

Awesome read Josh! I love reading your posts on archery tactics for rutting deer in AZ. Over the past 5 years I’ve seemingly become obsessed with chasing them in January but have yet to seal the deal. Every year I get closer and I’ve found that the aggressive tactic is the only way to go when it comes to rutting coues (or Muleys for that matter). Keep up the great content and any time you are willing to impart more knowledge on chasing AZ bucks I’ll be happy to soak it in.

Index vs. thumb releases for bowhunting - posted 1 month ago

Great on releases. I’ve shot a index finger release for years and even after years of practicing I still find myself punching the trigger from time to time. I’ve been tossing around the idea of a thumb button release for a while and after this I think it’s time to give it a go. Thanks!

Arizona Big Game Unit 23 - posted 1 year ago

Jackson,
Primarily mule deer north of young and a mix of coues and Muley south of young. You should see plenty of deer north of young but as Colin said, the buck to doe ratio isn’t very good. I’ve seen lots of does but few bucks. Only one good one. 140” class or better is a pretty decent buck in unit 23.
