Located in the south central part of the state this unit is not typically going to be a good fit for DIY hunters outside of having a relationship with a landowner as there is virtually no public land in the entire unit and very limited walk-in access areas. Most of the elk in this unit will live on private lands and it is generally recommended that hunters secure private access before applying for tags here.
Low densities of elk are found in this unit and most will be found on private lands.
