This large unit is found is west-central Alaska and is bisected by the famed Yukon River. A few small communities and towns are found along the Yukon but this unit remains largely remote. Several small mountain ranges can be found throughout the unit but most of this area is generally flat and well covered in small feeder streams and river bottom areas. Most hunters will generally fly into remote locations to hunt but float hunting is also a great option here. Logistically, this can be a tough unit to reach and ultimately hunt but some great opportunities can be found here.
Good hunting opportunities can be found here but reaching the unit can be expensive and require a good deal of planning. Excellent drop hunt opportunities can be found here for moose but outfitters tend to fill up fast and hunters need to plan for this in advance.
