INSIDER Update: Washington is now live!

Washington hunting research data now live on goHUNT INSIDER

We are very excited to announce our newest state to INSIDER: Washington. Washington has been one of our most requested states, so we can't wait for you to dive into all of the data.

Like our other states, you’ll have Filtering 2.0 to decide where to apply and hunt with filters for trophy potential, draw odds, number of animals harvested, weapon type, season dates and much, much more. Once you've gotten that portion of your research nailed down, you will be prepared to jump into our standalone Draw Odds page for even more detailed draw odds data.

What you'll see with the launch of Washington

Washington has a plethora of big game species and seasons. If you're looking to start picking up points in Washington or fine tune a better unit to apply for, all of this research data will greatly help you out. You will not only get an analysis of all units, and seasons, but you'll also have Species Breakdowns, plus a Washington State Profile that outlines how to apply and the fees associated with hunting in Washington.

Filtering 2.0

Washington hunt data added to goHUNT Filtering 2.0

Washington will now show up on the drop-down menu for Filtering 2.0.

In Filtering 2.0, you'll instantly be able to narrow down where to apply and hunt for each species in Washington. In a few clicks, you'll know what unit is perfect for your specific criteria.

  • Detailed unit-by-unit analysis
  • Draw Odds
  • Trophy Potential
  • Tag Allocation
  • Harvest Success
  • Public Land %

Draw Odds For Washington

We also have Draw Odds for all species and all residencies in Washington. As always, our data science team was hard at work making sure that our Washington draw odds meet the same rigorous standards as all of our other states.

If you just want to view draw odds, you can quickly navigate to our standalone Draw Odds Page and select Washington to see detailed draw odds for each unit. Note: Draw odds are also available on Filtering 2.0 and on each Unit Profile.

Locating our standalone draw odds page

If you're unfamiliar with INSIDER, we have a standalone draw odds page for all states and species. To locate our Draw Odds page, highlight over INSIDER and once the dropdown menu appears, select the "DRAW ODDS" area at the top. See the screenshot below for a visual explanation.

How to find standalone draw odds page on goHUNT INSIDER

Once you click the Draw Odds page, you'll be taken to the screen below. From there, just select Washington, then select your residency, and finally the species.

Awesome! For some reason, I thought I saw the application deadline was March 31, but looks like it is actually May 22nd!

Thanks again for crushing it!

Hey Roger.

You are in luck! There will definitely be a Washington application strategy article this year. I am actually writing all of the Washington application strategy articles myself, and my goal is to get them live on goHUNT by the last week of April.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey Jake. For 2019 we will not have an application strategy article for Washington. We were focused on getting all the data, draw odds and unit profiles completed well before the state's app deadline. And so for 2019, INSIDERs will need to rely on those tools. But we will have a Washington Application Strategy article in 2020.

@ Pat F.
Thanks for the comment! I'm showing that it is whitetail deer only. If you go to the stand-alone Draw Odds section, select Whitetail Deer it will show up under the Muzzleloader, Special Permit section. It's the one that has Units 149, 154, 162 and 166. Here's a link

Sweet, I've been looking forward to this!

Wow, I knew it was bad but figured I could find something. Thanks GoHunt, you just saved me enough to renew my membership next year. When a guy with 45 points didn't draw, it's pretty easy to send my money somewhere else.

I agree with below, Alaska would be my next choice followed by Dakota’s.

The Dakotas would be awesome!
