Idaho Fish and Game Commission finally approved the sale of nonresident licenses, tags, and permits. This is great news. Slowly but surely we will all be getting back to normal, but in the meantime, stay safe out there.

The following is an urgent press release from the Idaho Fish and Game Commission.

Change is in accordance with Governor's new directives

Idaho Fish and Game Commission approved resuming sales of nonresident licenses, tags and permits, which will be available for sale at 10 a.m. M.D.T. on May 16. The decision was aligned with Governor Brad Little’s revised guidance for Stage 2 reopening of Idaho, which includes relaxing the 14-day self-quarantine for people entering Idaho.

Commissioners suspended the sale of some nonresident licenses and tags in April in support of the “stay at home” order in Idaho and many other states. Nonresident licenses, tags and permits will be available to buy online, at vendors, or by calling (800) 554-8685.

I live in Florida and was supposed to be flying out on the 28th of May taking my 16 year old son on our first bear hunt. It’s a little late for us who were planning a spring bear hunt since January with thousands of dollars invested in flights, car rentals, cabin rental not to mention special gear all had to be canceled because I could not purchase tags. It’s hard not to mention expensive for us who live on the east coast who want to experience western big game hunting especially with this mess.
