Enjoy your ride into the majestic Eagles Nest Wilderness on one of our seasoned horses. Along the way you'll find yourself hypnotized by the visions of elk grazing in the secluded mountain river valleys. You'll notice the lush gently sloping aspen stands leading up to the dark timber benches nestled below 12,000' peaks. The Eagles Nest Wilderness is designated wilderness which means that travel is allowed by foot or horseback only. You will never hear an ATV or chainsaw nor see much human traffic. Can there be better elk habitat on the Earth? The Eagles Nest Wilderness is situated in the White River National Forest and is home to a large portion of the White River herd. The White River herd is the largest herd of free ranging elk on the planet at over 25,000. Rhere are numerous branch antlered bulls in the herd with many at trophy potential.
