This hunting district is situated west of Kalispell and Whitefish, within large portions of Flathead National Forest and Stillwater State Forest. Large sections of old clear cuts make great habitat for a huntable moose population. This are will get hunted heavily for deer and elk with it's close proximity to Kalispell. This can cause moose to be somewhat more cautious when near roads but can also be a benefit as most hunters are generally forthcoming with any information of moose sightings.
It is tough to draw a limited license but those who do draw each year realize that an opportunity for a B&C bull is possible. Freezing weather can make hunting in November difficult, but it also means the potential of having a covering of tracking snow.
