Chronic wasting disease (CWD) was recently confirmed in Wyoming’s Deer Hunt Area 155. In September, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) detected the disease in a harvested mule deer, according to a press release.
Hunt Area 155, which is located in the Jackson Region, shares a border with two hunt areas where CWD is already present. CWD was confirmed in Hunt Area 152 in 2019 and in Grand Teton National Park in 2018. If you suspect your harvest may be infected or you spot a suspicious-acting deer, please notify WGFD.
