TODAY at 3 p.m. Alaskan Time (4 p.m. PST), the Federal Subsistence Board (FSB) will collect public comments about the proposed closure of Units 24A and 26B to Dall sheep hunting for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 wildlife regulatory years (WSA22-02). These are federal public land units located west of the Sagavanirktok River in the Brooks Range of Alaska.

Once the FSB presents their analysis of why this proposed closure should occur, the board will open the floor to public comments. To voice your concerns on the issue:

The Safari Club International has declared its opposition to the proposed closure, arguing that the decision should not be made by the federal government. Rather, it should be made by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
