Arizona's OTC Archery Deer Tag Sale Change

A bow hunter on an OTC archery deer hunt in Arizona

There’s no argument that Arizona’s OTC archery deer tags are still some of the best opportunities to get out and chase some critters in the west every year. In the spring of 2022, the state made some changes to these hunts, which was a big shock from the old system. Each unit now has a set quota and once that quota is filled, then the unit is closed. Hunters are still responsible for determining whether the unit they choose to hunt is open or closed and hunters must report their harvest within 48 hours of kill.

Bottom line is, nothing has really changed from a year ago. However, one big change you might want to be aware of is that the sale date for the 2024 season is no longer December 1st. Both resident and nonresident Nonpermit Archery deer tags will go on sale starting November 2nd, 2023. See the table below for details:.
