GOHUNT HQ

About GOHUNT

GOHUNT is a rapidly growing company that puts the best technology and gear into the hands of hunters and anyone who loves the outdoors. We've taken over the Western big game hunting industry by giving ethical, fair-chase hunters better tools to pursue their passion. We form relationships with our customers through engaging content, our industry-leading research subscription product, curated eCommerce Gear Shop and our new eLearning outdoor education platform.

We take pride in staying mission-focused while still enjoying ourselves and offering a world-class customer experience. If you’re someone with grit and integrity, we’d love to have you on our team.

Vision & Mission

We support conservation through hunting.

Hunters secure more tags and have more success because we put the best technology and gear into their hands. Our tech cuts through hunting’s complexities to uncover opportunities that most folks don’t even know exist, and we provide the expertise and gear needed to get it done in the field. That means more money for conservation and more support for wildlife management, preserving public lands for generations to come.

GOHUNT is seeking engineers to join our team to build new features that improve and unify our product suite.

As a UI/UX frontend engineer, you will help solve unique challenges across multiple platforms, build delightful user experiences, and scalable frontend systems. You'll also work with our design and platforms teams to build maintainable component libraries and front-end standards. If you're excited to design and deliver engaging user experiences, build performant user interfaces, and trustworthy consumer platforms, we should talk!

Who you are

  • You’ve got a passion for building high-impact, well-performing user experiences.
  • You’ve got positive energy. You’re optimistic about the future and determined to get there.
  • You’re never tired of learning and are always testing the latest front end technologies.
  • You appreciate direct communication. You’re both an active communicator and an eager listener - because let’s face it, you can’t have one without the other. You’re cool with candid feedback and see every setback as an opportunity to grow.
  • You can pivot on the fly. The hunting space is constantly evolving, so our priorities do, too. What you worked on last month may not be what you work on today, and that excites you. You’re not looking for a boring job.
  • You have a “can do” attitude. Our teams create high-quality work on quick timelines. Owning a problem doesn’t scare you, but rather empowers you to take 100% responsibility for achieving our mission.
  • You want to be part of a winning team. We’re stronger together, and you’re a person who embraces being pushed out of your comfort zone.

What you'll be doing

  • Building new user-facing features with beautiful and scalable UI components.
  • Articulate a long term technical direction and vision for maintaining and scaling best-in-class web platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product design, and data science teams to define and build exciting new features.
  • Create trustworthy user experiences by building interfaces that are simple, easy to understand, performant and reliable using modern front end tools.
  • Mentor and train other team members on best practices and coding techniques.
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence and best practices, and demand the same from others through code reviews, teamwork, and education.
  • Add positive energy in every meeting, and make your coworkers feel included in every interaction.

What we look for in you

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering and at least 4 years of experience in developing web apps and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Markdown, etc.
  • A portfolio, work samples, or Github profile with application is a significant plus.
  • You've developed and shipped user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks like React and Angular.
  • A proficiency with vanilla page script without much need to rely on libraries to accomplish innovative interactions.
  • Comfortability with WSYIWIG page builders such as Webflow and Unbounce
  • You’re familiar with current trends and best practices in front-end development, including organization, performance, security, SEO and usability.
  • Experience with Typescript, Storybook, and Jest a plus.
  • You’re familiar with the product and design life cycles, and collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product managers.
  • You write high-quality, well-tested code to meet the needs of your customers.
  • Prefer experience working with any CMS platforms, Adobe AEM highly preferred

Location: Las Vegas or remote from select states, with a strong preference for Pacific or Mountain Time Zone.
